Prezi FYI: You will have to sign up to get started.

Welcome to the Prezi page! Prezi is a cool Web 2.0 tool that allows you to easily organize ideas in a virtual graphic organizer. It is simple to add pictures and manipulate text into an attention-getting pleasant to view graphic organizer. Students will be interested in learning because it is fun to look at.

Here is an example of one I created for 3rd graders to learn the 7 continents.

  • Free
  • Online only. No installation needed on your computer.
  • Easy to use.
  • Photos/files attach easily with a click.
  • Educators get free account

  • Have to sign up for account
  • Online only. If internet is out-you can't use it.
  • Must be 13 to use so if you teach a younger grade students wouldn't be able to use it.
  • Has to be advanced by user or you can't set times between each slide if using in a presentation.

This tool has a number of great classroom applications. My favorite would be to introduce math concepts that involve several steps. You could also use it not only to introduce new concepts but also to review old concepts before testing. Students can help input what info goes into the Prezi. It is great to use in social studies or science also. This highly visual application is a great motivator for students who learn visually or are easily distracted or are hard to keep focused.
